Sacked Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce says he is not bitter after his shock departure from the north-east club. Newcastle´s football betting odds to win the FA Cup are 40/1. The Toon Army play Stoke City in a third round replay. Allardyce leaves the club by "mutual consent" but confesses his sacking had come as a shock. However, the 53-year-old says that he will return to football. Speaking to the assembled British media near his home, Allardyce said: "No, I don't think so. Once people make a decision, there is nothing you can do about it. There is no point being bitter and twisted about it because that will only affect you, it does not affect the people you have left. For me, it's disappointing and you have to move on with your life." Allardyce was asked why chairman Chris Mort had appeared to turn against him after recently backing him publically: "I don't know, to be honest with you. You can only ask Chris that and he can only answer that question, not me." Allardyce is expected to take a short break before deciding his next move into the mad, mad world of football. Ironically, big Sam was taking a short break when Newcastle stepped in for his services last year. Allardyce had only just resigned his position at Bolton Wanderers before Newcastle came calling. Said Allardyce: "I will take a break with my wife and go away, have a little bit of a re-charge of the batteries, come back and then move on with my football career. "Me and my wife will get away in the sunshine, have a little bit of a break and then come back and re-focus and obviously stay in football. When that will come? Who knows? We will just have to wait and see." Unlucky Sam, better luck next time.
