New England soccer boss Fabio Capello says he will speak English in four weeks.

Can capello revive England´s flagging fortunes? If you think he can then England are available at 9/1 to win the 2010 World Cup.

It´s a statement of self-discipline that he will surely expect to see replicated by his players.

"I want to have learned the language in time to meet with the players next month," The new England manager said. "It is very important to communicate with the players, and I will undertake a strict routine and apply myself every day so I can do that."

Aside from speaking the lingo Capello´s principal task will be to evaluate why England generally performed so poorly during Steve McClaren's 18 month reign.

England's awful failure at reaching Austria and Switzerland will at least afford Capello some time to form his squad.

Capello's opening friendly will be against Switzerland at Wembley on February 6. England then take on France in Paris a month later.

Said Capello: "I am very lucky to be able to play until next autumn without the pressure and scrutiny of qualification games I have four games before June - when I will be able to experiment but more importantly form a group which regains a mentality and a philosophy in the national squad that can get the results.

He added: "English footballers have a will to win and love for their country. It is a question of getting it out of them."
