Sven-Goran Eriksson - Manchester City manager - has played down reports of Inter Milan's continued interest in play maker Elano and also scandal player Micah Richards.
City are rated at 25/1 to win the FA Cup with Bodog. They have won nine straight home games this season. The Brazilian Elano was captured by Eriksson for £8million from Shakhtar Donetsk during pre-season. The attacking midfielder has been a huge factor in City's superb start to the season.
Unsurprisingly, many top clubs have begun to covet his services. Said Eriksson: "If Inter wanted one of our players, I am sure Roberto Mancini would have telephoned me straightaway.
"I know him and we speak regularly with each other. He would be the first one to tell me if Inter wanted Elano. So I don't think they do." Eriksson also added there have been no advances from any clubs for Elano and also England defender Richards. Richards has been plastered on the front pages of UK tabloids over his sexual exploits with a girl and a male friend in a disabled toilet. The incident took place in Manchester city centre. Eriksson has tried to play down the incident. "I have spoken to Micah but that is all the comment I have to make about it," said Eriksson. With his side not in action until Thursday, when they tackle out-of-form Blackburn at Eastlands, Eriksson has opted to give the City players a rare Christmas Day off.
