Sunderland boss Roy Keane has controversially made his first signing of this month's transfer window after landing Manchester United defender Jonny Evans. Evans, who is currently on bail for alleged rape at Manchester United's Christmas Party, joins on loan move to Sunderland until the end of the season.
Sunderland are rated at 80/1 to win the FA Cup. The 20-year-old Northern Ireland international was at the Black Cats last season where he spent the second half of the club's Coca-Cola Championship title campaign.
Sunderland manager Roy Keane commented: "We agreed with United on Thursday for Jonny Evans to come up. He is here now and available for Saturday, so that's a start." Keane added: "Jonny did extremely well for us last year. I spoke to him and am looking forward to seeing him. So our squad is currently being stretched and we're only halfway through the season. "But I've said it since pre-season when we went into the season definitely short of a couple of players, and then we had a few serious injuries to compound that. "It means when an opportunity comes along to get something out of a game like this, we've not been good enough take it."
