A spokesperson for Academic Medical Center (the hospital where Ronaldo’s procedure was done) told the Associated Press that Ronaldo is expected to leave the hospital on Tuesday July 8th, 2008. Portugal was disqualified in the quarterfinals of the Euro 2008; as Spain went on to win the European Championship. Two of the top teams in the Western Conference meet on Thursday night as Real Salt Lake hosts Houston. Real Salt Lake is one of only two unbeaten teams at home this season. Real Salt Lake and Houston have 15 points each, two back of the L.A. Galaxy in the Western Conference.
SBG Global reports that early Soccer Betting has the public taking Dynamo on the Road. MLS Betting Preview Houston at Real Salt Lake Thursday, 10:00 pm Eastern – ESPN 2
SBG Global Opening Line: Real Salt Lake - ½ EV , Total 2.5 Over -120 Real Salt Lake had their unbeaten streak snapped at five in their last game when they lost to Kansas City 1-0. "It's hard for us to feel satisfied," RSL coach Jason Kreis said. "This is another game where you have to feel like you dropped a point. If we're a little more focused for the last couple of minutes, we pick up a point. That's happened too often to us this year." Houston is coming off a 1-1 draw against Dallas last week. "The game is a sour point for us. I thought we had more than enough chances in the first few minutes to possibly put the game out of reach. We were in good situations and had good chances. To get a tie out of it, we are not happy," head coach Dominic Kinnear said. "The guys are disappointed, as we should be. At the halfway point [of the season], I don't think we are getting as many points as we want or need." One of the problems for Houston has been their defense. They have allowed 19 goals already this season after allowing only 23 all of last year. "You look at our team and what has made us successful the past couple of years. It's defense," Brian Ching said. "We have been one of the best defensive, if not the best, defensive team in the league. But now we've got guys letting in mistakes. They are making big mistakes and costing us games. It's the same guys costing us 3-4 games, so it's disappointing."
SBG Global Current Line: Real Salt Lake - ½ -105 , Total 2.5 Over -125 Houston will not play for almost three weeks following Thursday’s game. They did not advance in the U.S. Open Cup as they lost Tuesday to the USL-1 Charleston Battery on penalties. Here are the Soccer Betting stats for Thursday’s game. The two teams have met 7 times in history. Houston has four wins, Real Salt Lake has two wins and the other match ended in a draw. At home, Real Salt Lake is 2-1-1 against Houston. Houston won the season series last year and split the two games in Salt Lake City. Houston has scored one goal or less in nine of their 15 matches overall this season. - Receive up to 135% in Total Bonuses from SBG Global!

Euro 2008 Final Results Spain Wins European Championship: the EURO 2008 Cup Final came down to two of the best sides in this year’s tournament competition. Both of these sides were very worthy finalists, but there can only be 1 European 2008 Champion. Odds-makers at BodogLife.com had Spain a -180 betting odds favorite to beat Germany (+140), and the odds of a Draw were +230. Just hours away before the kick off of this Euro 2008 Final, there were some key injury blows dealt to both teams. For Spain, the tournament leading goal-scorer, David Villa was announced wouldn’t play due to injured muscle. Equally for the Germans, captain, Michael Ballack was announced as unavailable for Sunday’s match due to an injured calf. But Ballack gave it a go for Germany. Spain's moment occurred in the 33rd minute of the match, when Torres was able to score the winning and only goal. The match started a bit sloppy, as both sides seemed to be feeling each other out. But Spain was more aggressive through out, and their lack of experience did not play a role in these Euro 2008 Finals. Spain wins their first European Championship since 1964; their second title in their history. They also become just 1 of a handful of teams to win multiple European Championship titles. They were certainly the best team in this tournament, and they showed it in Sunday's final. It has been a terrific several weeks in Switzerland-Austria, filled with emotion and fervor. But no one had a better time, then Spain: a team that had been labeled as the biggest loosers in European history. Euro 2008 UEFA Final Prediction Germany vs Spain: so far we know this much: David Villa is out, and so is German captain Michael Ballack. These are obviously key losses for both sides, but which side is most damaged by these injuries? Germany or Spain? This is the determining factor in the outcome of this Euro 2008 Final. BodogLife.com even after Villa’s injury has Spain a -180 betting odds favorite to win the European Championship over Germany +140. When it was reported that David Villa went down with an injury, and thus, would be unable to play in the final, the advantage went immediately to Germany to win. However, when Michael Ballack went down, that seems to have evened things out as far as predicting a Euro 2008 winner. One thing is certain; goals will come at a premium in this final. There will not be a shootout between these sides. Simply because they are both defensively fundamentally sound. Yes, they have plenty of players that can score, but they also posses solid defenders. I believe Spain is a more talented team, and therefore they have a slight edge. However, their experience is minimal. Thus, I believe that with inexperience comes inconsistency in execution. Usually the more poised veteran team is able to execute their game plan better than the next; this favors Germany. The bottom line is this: Spain is a more talented team; and Germany is a way more experienced team. Therefore, I believe this Euro 2008 Final match will be a draw after regulation time and injury time. And thus, Penalty kicks will once again decide this year’s European Championship 2008. If it gets down to penalty kicks, I would have to go with experience over youth. Sports-Odds.com Euro 2008 Prediction: Draw +230 after regulation and injury time... Germany wins in penalty kicks. Euro 2008 Final Xavi Hernandez Creus Believes Spain is Unstoppble: the war of words leading up to the anticipated meeting between these two sides for the 2008 European Cup Championship continued Saturday. This time, Xavi Hernandez Creus of Spain fires back to comments made by German players Friday. According to Spains’s goal-scorer Xavi, whenever Spain plays at their best: “No one can stop us”. Xavi also took it upon himself to reply to comments made by German players this week, regarding Spain’s inexperience in these types of situations: “None of us had the experience of playing in a European semi-final… on Sunday we have another chance to make history.” Spain, who has failed to make it to a final in almost two and a half decades, will go against an experienced German side, which currently holds the all-time record for most championships won (3), and most final appearances (6). In Spain’s history, the only championship they’ve ever won dates all the way back to the 1964 European Championships in Madrid. Spain has been branded the game's biggest underachievers on the international stage ever, and the only way for them to change that, is to beat Germany come Sunday’s Euro 2008 Final. Spain will have to accomplish this feat without the tournament’s leading goal-scorer (4), David Villa, who has been ruled out of the Euro 2008 final with a muscular injury. Villa got hurt in the first half against Russia, during a free kick. Spanish coach, Luis Aragones, and his team will certainly miss Villa’s prescense on the field Sunday: “It's a pity that Villa can't play in the final because he has been a crucial player for us withhis goals… now I hope we can lift the cup for him,” said Xabi Alonso of Spain.
