Enthusiastic Manchester United fans stormed the field and briefly interrupted their training session in the southern city of Guangzhou yesterday.

After stars like Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney emerged from the dressing room to loud cheers, a sea of screaming Chinese fans ran on to the pitch, with some taking pictures. 

The players were sent back to the dressing room and waited until the crowd dispersed before returning.

None of the players were injured, although they were overwhelmed by the passion of their Guangzhou fans.

Yesterday’s practice came ahead of United’s friendly today against Guangzhou Pharmaceutical - the last stop of the club’s Asian tour.

Alex Ferguson will be focusing on improving Nani's form ahead of the new season.

The 19-year-old Portuguese player scored and posted another impressive performance in the 3-0 win over Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals.

An ankle injury had prevented Nani from making his debut before the friendly with Shenzhen this week, a game in which he also scored.
