All eyes will surely be on the two headlining fights between Brock Lesner vs. Frank Mir and Tim Sylvia vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira but the UFC 81 lightweight bout on the under card between Tyson Griffin versus Gleison Tibau has potential to be fight of the night. UFC 81 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 2nd, 2008. Here is the UFC 81 Preliminary Card betting preview provide to Sports-Odds.com readers by MMA Betting Expert Stan Leung of Fighting-MMA.com. MMA fans can bet on UFC 81 at BodogLife.com.
Tyson Griffin versus Gleison Tibau – Griffin has great skills as a wrestler. He has beaten some of the best lightweight fighters out there, including Urijah Faber. Gleison Tibau is great on the ground but he won’t be able to handle the pressing attack of Griffin. Betting Wise: Depending on the odds I would lay a lot on Tyson Griffin.
Chris Lytle versus Kyle Bradley – Lytle has a chip on his shoulder. He thinks he should be on the main event card and he is fighting mad that he isn’t. Kyle Bradley is a heavy hitter but he will fall into Chris Lytle’s game as he is technically the better striker. Betting Wise: The odds should be too large to wager on Chris Lytle so I would lay off this bet.
Marvin Eastman versus Terry Martin – Plain and simple, someone is getting knocked out. Both guys will come out striking and whoever gets it gets it. I’m leaning more towards Marvin Eastman who is in better shape but Terry Martin is the heavier striker. Marvin Eastman has better ground skills and has the advantage over Terry Martin in that department. If Eastman follows the game plan he should ground and pound his way to a win. Betting Wise: I would lay off this fight. Both guys have a punchers chance but if you should bet take Marvin Eastman.
Keita Nakamura versus Rob Emerson – Emerson is a game fighter but not a good fighter. He is crowd pleaser with great heart but does not have the skills yet. Keita Nakamura will take Rob Emerson to the ground submit him with ease. Betting Wise: Lay a lot on Keita Nakamura, who will walk through this fight.
David Heath versus Tim Boetsch – Tim Boetsch is a heavy puncher and is a big light heavyweight. David Heath does not have the punching power in the stand up. Even though Heath is technically a better fighter, I like Tim Boetsch’s power and striking ability. Betting Wise: This is a good dog pick to lay your money on.
