Jon Fitch vs Thiago Alves Added to UFC 111 Betting Odds: With all the recent injuries and depleted fight cards Joe Silva has had to deal with, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is destined to have some of the biggest names fighting in 2010. As of UFC 11’s March 27th card wasn’t already stacked enough, the UFC has recently added the UFC welterweight rematch everyone has been waiting for.
According to various reports, two welterweight title contenders will meet for a second time in the Octagon as (22-5-0) Thiago “Pitbull” Alves looks to get revenge on the always dangerous, (24-3, 1 NC) Jon Fitch at UFC 111 Betting Odds.
The first time these guys met back was back at UFC Fight Night in 2006. Fitch dominated from beginning to end that evening. In the second round, the American landed a head-kick from the bottom and finished Alves with punches for a TKO victory. Fitch is 8-1 since then, while Alves is 7-1. Both men's only blemish during that stretch came against the reigning UFC welterweight champion, Georges St-Pierre.
This rematch was supposed to happen back in December’s UFC 107, but the Brazilian suffered a knee injury. Instead, Fitch and Alves will meet at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in what should be one of the most entertaining nights of the year.
Headlining UFC 111 will be the UFC welterweight championship battle between huge sports betting odds favorite and one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, Georges “Rush” St-Pierre [-800 ML] taking on Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy [+500 ML].
