Tomorrow's UFC 127 features a terrific undercard lineup, including a middleweight battle between The Ultimate Fighter season three winner Michael Bisping and veteran Jorge Rivera. The fight, which has turned into a highly anticipated affair due to the escalating animosity between the two combatants, can be seen on Pay-Per-View at 10:00pm ET Saturday, February 26th. UFC 127 Betting Odds & Predictions have Bisping listed as a -375 moneyline favorite to win the fight.
Tomorrow's showdown seemed like a rather innocuous affair between highly respected middleweights until Jorge Rivera decided to post a couple of online videos poking fun at the always brash Michael Bisping.
Bisping, true to his nature, took offense to Rivera's antics, sparking an ever escalating war of words between the two competitors. In fact, Bisping appeared ready to tangle with Rivera last Saturday when the two shared the stage for a post-press conference photo op, repeatedly saying, "Are you going to back all that s*#t up now?"
Given Bisping's obvious anger and, now, clear motivation, perhaps Rivera's video parodies were not the wisest promotional ploys ever concocted. However, the Massachusetts native may be in a better position than ever to deal with a fighter of Bisping's calibur, motivated or not.
Rivera (18-7) is riding a three fight win streak, his longest since joining the UFC, and he has finished his last two bouts (Rob Kimmons, Nate Quarry) via KO/TKO.
Bisping enters tomorrow's fight with a 21-3 professional record, and he has won three of four fights since suffering a devastating knockout against Dan Henderson at UFC 100 (July, 2009).
Bisping last fought in October of 2010 when he scored a unanimous decision victory over Yoshihiro Akiyama.
Tomorrow's action will begin at approximately 11:00am ET at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
