UFC Live: Alessio Sakara vs James Irvin Betting Odds: The Ultimate Fighting Championship will make its much anticipated debut on the VERSUS network for a terrific fight card free of charge. This is especially good news for Direct-TV subscribers, as the satellite powerhouse was able to find a peaceful median to keep the channel as part of its lineup.
Out of the many, intriguing fights happening in tonight’s UFC live, I will be focusing in on the brawl between (18-7-0, 1 NC) Alessio “Legionarius” Sakara [-125 ML] taking on sports betting odds underdog (14-5-0, 1 NC) James “The Sandman” Irvin [-105 ML]. Sakara comes into this fight heating up, as he’s riding the momentum of a 2-fight win streak.
After being TKO’s by Chris Leben, Legionarius has bounced back with a KO over Joe Vedepo and a unanimous decision victory against the departed, Thales Leites. Sakara is just 5-4 in the UFC. “I think he is a great opponent and he likes the stand up game like me, so I think it will be a battle,” Sakara said of facing Irvin tonight.
For Irvin, this will be making his first appearance in the Octagon since an embarrassing knockout loss to Anderson Silva in July of ‘08. The Sandman is currently 7-5 in the UFC with his most notable victories coming by knockout or TKO.
“I think it’s the best matchup they’ve given me in the UFC so far and I think it should be one of the best fights I’ve had yet,” Irvin said of his matchup against the Italian.
