ESPN2 Friday Night fights will have another heavyweight fight on display tonight when Kevin Johnson vs Terry Smith do battle in the 10-round main event. Terry Smith will be in 5-1 underdog in front of a pro Terry Smith crowd in MIAMI, OK, so Smith will give it his all in front of his home crowd. The 28-year young 6’5” Johnson, 18-0-1, 6 KO’s, banks off of his constant pounding left jab. At 235 Lbs. with an 82” reach Kevin Johnson has all the measurable that you look for in a heavyweight contender. Johnson’s imposing physique doesn’t translate into great power however, and the 225 Lb. Terry Smith, 30-4-1, 18 KO’s, will have the edge in the power department. J ohnson isn’t a real fluid mover but he can make good use of his legs and above-average hand speed. Smith is a hittable but tough brawler. At age 36 Smith isn’t very fast but he is a mentally tough right hand puncher with a good chin. Johnson seems to have some genuine boxing ability and he should be able to jab and put some combos together against Smith pourus defense.
