Joe Calzaghe a legend?

by Abe Luciano on Friday, April 18th, 2008

Joe Calzaghe the wonder boy from Wales is looking to prove his legend to an American audience and show why it is that nobody has ever been beaten him in a ring, ever. Bernard Hopkins has arguably not been beaten himself since Roy Jones Jr. beat him in 1993.

Still a loss is a loss and Calzaghe has been the equivalent mathmatically to genius with a 44-0 record. Calzaghe earned the respect on this side of the pond when he gave a beat down to muscle head American Jeff Lacy. Calzaghe showed in that fight as a 5-2 underdog that he has mastered the art of Joe Calzaghe a legend?hitting at will while never getting hit.

But some were still not satisfied until Calzaghe beat the 39-0 top contender Mikkel Kessler in his last bout. Calzaghe had some rough spots early against the strong Denmark fighter, but in the end he used his brilliant ring I.Q to outclass him. If Calzaghe gets the W against a top-pound for pound fighter like Hopkins he will be at legendary status as a prizefighter.
