Bernard Hopkins vs Joe Calzaghe tonight on HBO at 9:45 ET will pit two men with unwavering confidence head-to-head for the world light-heavyweight championship. Calzaghe is the undisputed 168 Lb. champ moving up to challenge Hopkins who will be making the second defense of his 175 Lb. title after taking the belt from Antonio Tarver. Calzaghe is regarded as a truly great fighter in the UK, but he is still widely unknown to American audiences. Joe Calzaghe is the 5-2 boxing betting favorite over Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins is the savvy, grizzled champion that has intimidated and beaten up a laundry list of contenders The TOTAL round proposition is at 11.5 rounds with the OVER at -330. and champions in his 20-year pro career. Calzaghe’s best performances were against #1 contender Mikkel Kessler in his last fight and against hard-hitting American Jeff Lacy, who he beat up and humiliated. The Lacy fight showed off why Calzaghe is great, with his ability to dart-in-out and side to side while throwing millions of fast, crisp punches. The well-built 6’0” Calzaghe can abuse the body with hard hooks at close range or he can use his smooth boxing skills to control distance. Joe has been down in his career but he has a very good punch resistance. Both of these fighters are defensive whizzes but Hopkins can be unhittable at times with his cute moves. Bernard has seen it all and has always found a way to win but Calzaghe has done the same, who will prevail? I have a lock on the Bernard Hopkins vs Joe Calzaghe Fight that you do not want to miss!
