However, the general consensus among UFC fans and even that of UFC president, Dana White, was that Shogun should have walked out of the Octagon with the belt that night. Machida hopes to leave no doubt this time around.
“I will be ready to go all five rounds if that’s what it takes to retain my title,” stated The Dragon of his upcoming rematch with Rua. “But my goal is to finish the fight before it comes to that. I don’t want to leave this fight in the judges’ hands — I’m ready for war.”
