UFC 113 Picks: Kimbo Slice vs Matt Mitrione UFC 113 Odds & Predictions: Despite not being considered one of the UFC 113 co-main events tonight, you can bet that one of the UFC 113 fights people will be looking forward to the most is the heavyweight battle between The Ultimate Fighter 10 cast members, (4-1-0) Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson [20/23 or -115 ML] and (1-0-0) Matt “Meathead” Mitrione [20/23 or -115 ML].
Kimbo Slice is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Houston Alexander, while Matt Mitrione is coming off
a knock out performance of Marcus Jones, both at the TUF 10 Finale in December of 2009. UFC 113 Picks: Kimbo Slice vs Matt Mitrione UFC 113 Odds & Predictions happens tonight at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, and it’ll be broadcasted live on PPV.
This is one of those fights in which one can’t say: I wish to see a technical fight or see guys implement crafty and well thought-out game plans. This is the type of brawl that makes you say: I want to see someone get knocked the heck out! But will we get that tonight or will we see another Slice vs Alexander?
Truth of the matter is, the one thing these guys are good at is throwing hands. Even if Kimbo has been training under the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu masters and world-class wrestlers at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, FL, and despite all the training Mitrione might be getting in for tonight, these guys excel at testing each other’s chins.
“I’m probably a three, or something like that, on a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of development,” Mitrione said. “There’s so much game I have to develop. Really, think about it, this is just my fourth fight ever. I don’t know how often it happens that (someone makes his) pro debut in the UFC.
“I have a lot to learn, I know that. I’m somewhat young. I’m 31, but heavyweights in this sport develop later, it seems. A lot of it is up to me, what I allow myself to do. I think there is a lot of talent in there and I just have to develop it.”
The one thing that I’m going to keep an eye on is Kimbo’s suspect chin. Not only is he fighting a guy with heavy hands, but he’s also taking on a larger, more powerful striker in Mitrione. I think people sleep on Meathead because of all his antics and the voices in his head.
I personally think that this guy is smarter than most people give him credit for. After all, no one can’t deny the fact that Mitrione earned the right to right in the Finale through his bogus behavior but then went in there and made the most of it and put Big Baby to sleep, as the sports betting odds underdog.
And let’s not forget that Kimbo was knocked out by what looked like a jab from a much smaller Seth Petruzelli, so his chin is more than suspect to me in comparison to Mitrione’s. Nevertheless, the former knuckle-brawler insists he will be victorious tonight.
"I'm gonna thump. I'm banging with him," Kimbo said of tonight’s UFC 113 fight. "I'm gonna try to make him bleed, piss, fart, s***, throw up, burp, whatever the body does, I’m gonna try to get him to do it."
