Ricardo Mayorga vs Din Thomas Fight Shine Cancelled

Ricardo Mayorga vs Din Thomas Fight Shine Cancelled: Fans at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina, will not be happy with this, as the main event of tonight's Shine Fights has been cancelled. According to various reports, former two-time boxing world champion (MMA debut; boxing: 28-7-1, 22 KOs) Ricardo Mayorga [19/4 or +475 ML] will not be making his and his Mixed Martial Arts debut against (25-8-0) Din Thomas [4/27 or -675 ML] tonight, as this fight has been removed from the Fight Card. The rest of the fights will go on as planned.  This event is scheduled to get underway tonight at 9 PM ET (8 PM CT/6 PM PT) on pay-per-view.

Today, a Florida judge ruled in favor of boxing promoter Don King and his request to bar “El Matador” from competing in tonight’s Shine Fights MMA event.

“This fight will cause me irreparable harm if it goes forward,” King said. “Mayorga ain’t prepared to fight in MMA. This ain’t like boxing; it’s like a no-holds-barred fight. He could get hit with elbows and knees and he could get kicked. He’s not prepared for that punishment. I know he’s not even training.

“You can take this kind of punishment if you’re conditioned for it, but Mayorga isn’t conditioned for it. This fight could ruin him and he’s still a promotable guy. I have to sue to protect my investment and the sanctity of my legally binding contract.”

According to the ruling, Mayorga’s participation in this event interferes in Don King Productions’ exclusive boxing promotional contract with the Nicaraguan boxer. Furthermore, the judge found that Shine is guilty of tortious interference and that Mayorga is in breach of contract.

Nevertheless, Shine spokesman Phil Lanides said, “As of now, we are moving forward” with the Ricardo Mayorga vs Din Thomas Strikeforce Betting Odds Shine Fight Picks. Now we know it has been scratched!

“The question is, why are fans coming to this match? And the answer is because he is a headline boxer,” Broward County Circuit Court judge Marc H. Gold said. “Boxing and MMA are in competition with each other the way this fight is taking place.”
