Ricky Hatton vs Juan Lazcano will be mega star Hatton's first fight after the first loss of his professional career. Hatton’s World Jr. Welterweight Championship will be on the line in the 12-round bout.  Both fighters are promoted by Golden Boy promotions and if all goes well, Ricky Hatton will face Italian slickster Paulie Malignaggi who is fighting on the undercard. Ricky Hatton is a -1100 boxing betting favorite against tough Cali fighter Juan Lazcano.

The #8 ranked contender Lazcano will try to use left hooks to the body, and razor sharp right hands over the top to upset the odds and beat Hatton. The champ Ricky Hatton, is an aggressive combination puncher with a committed body attack and a tremendous punch output. The OVER\UNDER on the Ricky Hatton vs Juan Lazcano fight is 10.5 rounds with the UNDER at -120 boxing betting odds.

Hatton has been reported to be in great shape but their have been reports of excessive drinking binges. Hatton is still in his prime, but at some point he will start slipping. Is that time now against the underrated Lazcano? Lazcano is a durable fighter that has been KO’d only once in his pro career 10 years ago. “The Hispanic Causing Panic” Juan Lazcano is a dedicated pro that is always in top condition and has a sound boxing technique with efficient movement.

Lazcano has been training with well-regarded trainer Ronnie Shields for 7 weeks in preparation for Hatton in what has been reported to be a great training camp. Lazcano’s trainer had this to say about what to expect from Lazcano against Hatton: “Lazcano’s style is so different to Floyd’s  (Mayweather) style, but we know how to maneuver things around and we’re just looking forward to this being a great fight. I think people are going to really enjoy this. Usually I don’t get excited about whoever I’m training fighting anybody, but this is one fight that I’m really excited about. This is not going to be a surprise to us after Lazcano beats this guy. We feel that Juan is the better fighter anyway. I think it’s going to be a great fight. Ricky Hatton’s a good fighter but there’s one thing I do know, of all the guys he’s fought before he’s never fought anybody with a style like Juan Lazcano and that’s going to be the difference, something that he’s never seen before. And Floyd Mayweather laid out the plan of how to beat the guy.”

Has Hatton overcome his devastating KO loss to Mayweather when he almost got his head taken off? Is Lazcano going to get folded like Mexican Jose Luis Castillo did against Hatton?
