Kimbo Slice to Compete in The Ultimate Fighter: Who would have thought that Kimbo Slice , the face and downfall of the now extinct EliteXC, would have a chance to compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship?
Well believe it, because it’s true.
According to various reports, Kevin Ferguson, AKA Kimbo Slice has agreed to compete in the upcoming season of the UFC’s reality TV show/farm-system “The Ultimate Fighter 10”.
“TUF 10” is scheduled to begin taping as early as Wednesday (June 3rd) and is scheduled to air in September of 2009.
That’s right Kimbo has accepted UFC president, Dana White’s offer to earn his spot in the UFC by being one of 16 contestants on the show.
White, who has repeatedly mocked Slice for his lack of fighting ability, has mocked and ridiculed Slice from the beginning saying he "sucks" that he’s not a real MMA fighter.
The ever-outspoken president even said that Kimbo Slice would “get murdered if he fought in the UFC” and even assured that UFC lightweight champion, B.J. Penn (155 lbs), would “annihilate” the 230+ pound street fighter.
The presence of Slice adds a new wrinkle to an already hyped-up “TUF” series, which includes a coach-showdown between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and “Suga” Rashad Evans. “It should be interesting, given some of the things I’ve said about him,” White said.
