UFC 115: Chuck Liddell vs Rich Franklin Fight Odds Preview: This weekend, UFC fans will get their chance to see a legend of the sport try and remain relevant, as former UFC light heavyweight champion (21-7-0) Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell [+120 ML] takes on ex-UFC middleweight title-holder (27-5-0) Rich “Ace” Franklin [-150 ML] at UFC 115’s main event. UFC 115 happens this Saturday night live from the General Motors Place in Vancouver, BC, Canada Nevada and it will be broadcasted live on pay-per-view.
Of course, this is certainly not the matchup UFC fans have been waiting to see, as Franklin was a late substitute for Tito Ortiz in “The Ultimate Fighter 11” reality show. For Liddell, going from fighting the Huntington Beach Bay Boy, whom he has defeated twice before, to fighting a guy like Franklin poses a series of different threats to his comeback plans.
“I respect Rich and I think he’s a bigger challenge than Tito for sure,” The Iceman said. “So that motivates you more to get in the gym and I’ve got to be prepared for him, he’s going to show up in shape. He’s going to be there to fight so I better show up ready to go or I’m going to pay for it.”
When addressing the question and the likelihood that there will ever be a third meeting between Liddell and Ortiz Chuck said: “I don’t know, you’d have to talk to him about that if he comes back, I’ve made my case clear to Dana, I think if he comes back he should have to fight me to get back in, but we’ll see.”
