UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will put his title on the line tonight when he faces Russian fighter Ali Bagautinov at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. The latest UFC Odds from Bovada.lv like Johnson to retain his strap as he is a heavy -650 money line favorite ($650 wins $100) in this evening’s UFC 174 main event. Bagautinov is lined at +425 odds to unseat Johnson. Also on tonight’s main card are battles between Tyron Woodley and Rory MacDonald, Ryan Bader and Rafael Cavalcante, Brendan Schuab and Andrei Arlovski, and Ovince St. Preux and Ryan Jimmo. Bovada’s UFC 174 betting odds have Woodley, Bader, Schaub, and St. Preux favored at -125, -155, -155, and -150 odds, respectively.
Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson rides a five fight win streak into tonight’s main event and his last three victories were all in defense of his flyweight title. Johnson earned the championship belt in September of 2012 with a split decision win over Joseph Benavidez. It just so happens Johnson’s last fight came against the same man as he scored a first round knockout of Benavidez in December of last year.
Bagautinov is 13-2 as a professional fighter and 3-0 under the UFC banner with wins over Marcos Vinicius Borges Pancini, Tim Elliott, and John Lineker. The 29 year old, who won his last two fights via unanimous decision, has never been finished.
