Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin Fight UFC 116 Predictions

Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin Fight UFC 116 Predictions: As Brock Lesnar [-140 ML] prepares for his first fight in over a year, the reigning, undisputed UFC  heavyweight champ is trying to become a more complete fighter every time he takes into the Octagon. In his upcoming fight with fellow wrestler, and UFC interim title-holder, Shane Carwin [+110 ML], Lesnar has brought in a very notable name to help him with his training.

As the Lesnar camp prepares to put the finishing touches for Saturday night’s UFC 116 Predictions, Lesnar shared what he learned from his experience and training with UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture. “He taught me a lot of things,” Lesnar said of Captain America. “There are a lot of tricks of the trade he passed along. He came in and said, ‘These are the things you do great,’ and ‘These are the things you can do better at.’

“When Randy Couture comes into your gym, you have to raise the intensity level. I got to take my hat off to the guy. I was very impressed with him. At the end of the day, we complement each other and degrade each other. The biggest compliment is honesty. I know what I am good at. Tell me what I am not good at.”

But as it turns out, Lesnar wasn’t the only one that walked away from this unique situation having earned some additional respect. It appears that even for a guy like Couture, some of the things Brock Lesnar is doing to remain champ are admirable.

“I think for Brock’s future in fighting, he’s doing all the right things,” Couture said in his official website. “Look at this facility. How many athletes make this kind of a commitment, to isolate themselves and bring in great trainers and great training partners [like Brock has] and put the time, energy and work into being a top-notch, well-rounded fighter?

“Obviously, he’s already at the top of the game, so really, the sky is the limit. He can achieve and stay in this game as long as he wants to.”

In the big scheme of things, the fact that Lesnar is able to defend his title certainly makes one man smile more than the Kool-Aid man: UFC president Dana White.

“I wasn’t surprised at how he did [as a pay-per-view seller] because I had a feeling he’d be big,” he said of the Next Big Thing. “My concern was whether he could fight. Brock was a star coming out of the WWE. Whenever you take a guy who is a star and you combine him with the power of our brand, it’s going to lead to success.

“He’s a big, powerful guy and he has that persona about him. He’s got the personality, and he’s got the fighting style that people like. Our brand is very strong and we have a very strong partnership.”
