UFC 87 Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring Betting Odds Preview: On Saturday August 9, 2008 one of the most exciting newcomers in the Heavyweight division, Brock Lesnar, takes center stage in one of the most anticipated fight cards of the year. In just his second UFC appearance, wrestling powerhouse, Lesnar, has captured the attention of MMA fans everywhere with his charisma and power. However, his opponent is no slouch, as Lesnar will be squaring off against Heath “The Crazy Horse” Herring (29-13-1). Odds-makers at BodogLife.com are favoring (-270) Brock Lesnar against Heath Herring (+210) in UFC 87: Seek and Destroy. For most people, Brock Lesnar is an actor, almost like an action figure. And who can blame you? I mean, the guy does come from the WWE, which (I hope) everyone knows it’s just as fake as Michael Jackson’s nose cartilage. But there’s much more about Brock Lesnar that people don’t seem to know. Like for example, the fact that the guy is a real wrestler… he doesn’t just play one on TV. Truth is, Brock Lesnar is a wrestling extraordinaire and a terrific athlete. In his earlier days, he was crowned the NCAA Wrestling Champion for the University of Minnesota in the year 2000. His power is second to none, combined with great athleticism, which he displayed in his first 2 MMA fights (1-1). The 31-year-old monster from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, is a menacing presence in the octagon at 6’ 3”, 265-lbs. Many say Lesnar is the future of the heavyweight division. In some sort, UFC 87 will be a homecoming for Lesnar. However, the newcomer will have to bring all those acquired skills into the octagon. Brock Lesnar will be facing one of the most intimidating and most destructive fighters in the Heavy weight division in Heath Herring (6' 4" 250 lbs.)
