UFC 106 Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin UFC Fight on Nov 21: UFC President Dana White has announced the venue and the date when undisputed, UFC Heavyweight champion (4-1) Brock Lesnar will make his second title defense, which will be against undefeated wrestling powerhouse, (11-0) Shane Carwin.

It’s all going down on November 21, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV, on the same night that former UFC light heavyweight champion, Tito “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” Ortiz returns to the Octagon to take on UFC Hall of Famer, Mark “The Hammer” Coleman.

“Brock is ready to go now and wants to fight,” White stated. “Carwin makes the most sense. He’s 11-0, and he’s been kicking the s**t out of everybody. (Gabriel) Gonzaga destroyed (Mirko) Cro Cop and he (Carwin) totally destroyed Gonzaga. Plus, he hates Brock Lesnar.”

After his destruction of Frank Mir at UFC 100, Lesnar’s Octagon antics rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Carwin, an up-and-coming wrestler in the UFC was one of those people, as the undefeated heavyweight wasn’t shy about expressing his disgust of the UFC champ’s post-fight stunts.

“The flipping off of the fans that just lined your pocket with millions of dollars is just lame,” Carwin said after UFC 100. “He may be a champion, but he has a long ways to go before he earns the respect of a champion. The fans are why we do this, Brock.

“This sport is not about fat paychecks and drama. It is about hard work and sacrifice for a shot to do what you did (that) night. It doesn’t matter how much money you make if you can’t earn your peers’ respect and the respect and love of the greatest sporting fans in the world.”

Carwin not only comes in undefeated in his Mixed Martial Arts career, but he has absolutely pulverized everyone that has stood in front of him in the UFC including: Gabriel Gonzaga (TKO in UFC 96), Neil Wain (TKO in UFC 89), and Christian Wellisch (KO in UFC 84).

“We have no scripts in this sport, no predetermined earning amount and no predetermined outcomes,” Carwin stated in regards to Lesnar’s (6’3” 265 lbs) WWE history. “It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it matters how you win or lose.” The 34-year-old, 6’3” 262-pounder is just 3-0 in the UFC, but has never gotten passed the 2 minute 11 second mark in any of his 11 professional fights. This guy finishes fights, either by KO/TKO (6) or by Submission (5).

“He hates Brock Lesnar,” White assured. “It’s going to be two huge guys going at it. He’s got the power to knock anybody out and he’s got great wrestling too. He’s one of the guys that has the size to match up with Brock, too. This is one of those fights that could be wild. Someone’s going to get their head knocked off.”
