UFC Georges St Pierre vs BJ Penn 2 Fight Update: Just the concept of Georges St. Pierre vs. BJ Penn Part II, is easily one of the most anticipated ones in the history of mixed martial arts. However, people are going to have to remain patient if they want to witness what could be the biggest MMA event of all time. According to an interview with MMAWeekly.com, UFC president Dana White has already named a specific date for this mega fight to go down in the history books.

BodogLife.com, the leader in MMA fighting betting odds, has everything you need regarding the UFC, Affliction, EliteXC, Boxing, and all other non-fighting sports.

It had originally been rumored that the St. Pierre-Penn 2 fight could happen in UFC 92 on December 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, that idea never quite concretized, and nothing could be arranged.

The UFC (155-lb) lightweight champion, B.J. Penn, has had his sights on a rematch against GSP since after their first encounter in UFC 58. That first metting concluded in a controversial split-decision in favor of the French-Canadian, but many people still believe that B.J. Penn was indeed the winner.

According manager, J.D. Penn, B.J. and his camp won’t have to wait that long, as he has revealed that Dana White has named January 31st 2009, as the day for B.J.’s invasion into the 170-lb (Middleweight) division. “He’s staying strong and focused… January 31st gives him an extra month to train,” J.D. added.

B.J. has to move up 15 pounds in order to have a shot at avenging his loss, and an opportunity to rule the middleweight class by taking St. Pierre’s 170-lb title. But that’s not the only thing in B.J.’s mind: “St. Pierre, he’s got his Canadian fans, he’s got his American fans, his fans all over the world… I could see in one night that fight jumping the sport of mixed martial arts leaps and bounds. It could be maybe the Joe Frazier/Muhammad Ali type fight that the sport is looking for right now.”
