UFC 118 Odds: Frankie Edgar vs BJ Penn 2 Fight Predictions

UFC 118 Odds: Frankie Edgar vs BJ Penn 2 Fight Predictions: The UFC lightweight championship of the world will be on the line tonight, when sports betting odds favorite BJ Penn [-350 ML] tries to regain his title from sports betting odds underdog Frankie Edgar [+250 ML] who’ll be making his first title-defense at UFC 118. It all happens tonight, live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, and you can catch all the hard-hitting action on pay-per-view.

With everyone doubting his ability to repeat what he did last April in Abu Dhabi, Edgar will now have Penn’s full attention. According to “The Prodigy” his loss to Edgar is hands down, the best things that could have happened to him. Thus, Penn claims to have found a new drive and desire, but more so, it has given the proud Hawaiian something to work for in his professional career.

“I couldn’t be happier in my life, my training couldn’t be better, and I’m very excited,” Penn said. “Now with the way my training’s going, I’m back to my original goal of wanting to become the lightweight champion and the welterweight champion and I feel like now’s my chance.

“I really want to be a lot more active in the Octagon and I’m just a very happy person right now in my life. Honestly, without giving too much away, I’m just planning on going out there and being myself and hopefully it’s the best BJ Penn anyone has ever seen and everyone’s gonna end up looking at me and saying, man, this guy is the real deal.”

At 31 years of age, BJ claims to be in the best shape of his life going into the rematch with Edgar, who also looked to be in tip-top form in Friday’s UFC 118 weigh-ins. Penn claims that his biggest motivation isn’t to be the best lightweight in the world once again. The former UFC welterweight champ is to striving for another shot at becoming the first man to hold simultaneous titles in the UFC, as he plans to rule the 155 division once again, only to go after the guys at 170 lbs.

“Honestly, I feel like I’ve been an amateur all this time,” he said. “I want to be a lot more consistent. I don’t want to come out and win two or three and then lose some lackluster fight and everybody goes ‘what the hell? That’s not BJ Penn.’ I’m done being an amateur, it’s time to be a professional. I have everything I need here inside me. I can do it. Anybody can tell me ‘no BJ, you can’t win a fight training like that.’ And I’ll look at them and say, ‘no, YOU can’t.’ I can.”
