Randy Couture Will Fight in UFC Again? One of the most respected and celebrated MMA fighters of all time, Randy Couture, might be making his return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship as early as the end of this year. On Saturday September 6th 2008, in UFC 88’s main event, Chuck Liddell will take Rashad Evans from Phillips Arena in Atlanta Georgia on Pay-per-view. At SBGglobal.com, Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell is -260 betting odds ML favorites to defeat underdog, Rashad Evans (+210). It's rumored that Randy “The Natural” Couture (16-8, 13-5 in UFC) became displeased with UFC management over specific issues. After his TKO victory over Gabriel Gonzaga in 2007, Couture resigned a couple of months later. Allegedly, Couture left the UFC because of monetary issues, and management disagreements regarding Affliction’s superstar Fedor Emelianenko. In specific, Couture had a problem with UFC president Dana White, and his inability to reel-in Fedor into signing a contract to fight in the octagon. It is also rumored that Couture’s intentions are to ultimately sign with Affliction, which would set up a mega-fight, with the reigning undefeated champion, Fedor Emelianenko. However, do to legalities surrounding Couture’s contract, “The Natural” owes Zuffa LLC 2 bouts, which must be fought in the UFC before he could move on and fight elsewhere. Couture then signed a deal with Mark Cuban’s HDNet Fights Promotions, who then turned around and sued the UFC for Couture’s contractual status. To make a long story short, after months of ongoing legal battles between Couture and Zuffa, Randy is now offering to fight once more in the octagon. In return, Couture wants his freedom, or as he referred to it, to be “clear and free” from the UFC organization.
