UFC 103 Results: It’s pretty safe to say that (9-1) Junior Dos Santos can no longer be ignored in the UFC heavyweight division. Last night, in the UFC 103 Results, the Brazilian put on a great display of power, aggression and stamina in defeating the legendary (25-7-2, 1 NC) Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic by Submission (punches) at exactly 2 minutes of the third round. According to most UFC 103 Results Betting Odds makers in the world, Junior Dos Santos [-145 ML] entered this UFC 103 Results fight as a slight sports betting odds favorite to defeat the Croatian, Mirko Cro Cop [+115 ML].
From the opening bell, Filipovic was taking an absolute beating. The Brazilian kept attacking and connecting with
powershots from all angles and knees to the body. It was clear that “Cro Cop” was being wore down by the continuous onslaught to the point that the fight was closed to being called on several occasions. Nevertheless, like the crafty veteran that he is, “Cro Cop” hung in there like a warrior, but he was getting battered pretty badly by a faster, stronger, and hungrier Dos Santos during the first two rounds.
In the third, things were just getting from bad to worse. Cro Cop kept absorbing brutal punishment, perhaps with hopes of Dos Santos getting tired and letting up, but that never happened. The final blow was an uppercut that landed flush in the Croatian’s left eye, blinding him to the point he couldn’t continue and Dan Miragliotta had no choice but to call the bout by Submission due to punches.
“He needed to go the hospital,” UFC president Dana White said of Cro Cop’s status after the fight. “He said he was fine and he refused to go, but I made him go. He’s going on a 20-hour flight (back to Croatia). He said he was fine and didn’t want to go to the doctor.”
In other UFC 103 Results, Josh Koscheck absolutely destroyed veteran Frank Trigg in just over a minute into the fight. The battle of the wrestlers ended up being a one-sided, short, stand-up affair, as Koscheck connected with a solid right to Trigg’s mug, immediately pouncing on him and finishing him off for the victory. “I’ll fight anyone at any time,” said Koscheck. “I’ll be ready to fight next month. If someone falls out in October in Los Angeles, I’m ready. I’ll be ready again in November.”
