However, Spike TV will be airing the best UFC 104 preliminary fights tonight, live and free of charge beginning at 9 PM ET, setting the stage for the big UFC 104 event! By far the most anticipated UFC 104 fight in tonight’s card UFC 104: Lyoto Machida vs Mauricio Shogun Rua Betting Oddswill be a UFC light heavyweight battle as the champion, Lyoto Machida [-500 ML] gets set to make his first title-defense against a dangerous and hungry, sports betting odds underdog contender, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua [+350 ML].

The champion, Machida, comes into this fight undefeated following his destruction of former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans at UFC 99. His opponent, Rua, is coming off a very impressive knockout victory over the legendary, UFC Hall of Famer, Chuck Liddell at UFC 98. These UFC warriors would like nothing more than to return to their native country as the UFC light heavyweight champion and be greeted like national heroes to the sounds of Samba tambores, em um carnaval Brasileiro.

"My thought process isn't much different than before I won the belt," Machida said this week. "Every time I go into a fight I am not there to defend the belt, but to win the belt. I'm prepared to go in there and win this belt again… I have a strength and conditioning coach, who has been able to adopt a lot more speed and agility and strength to my striking. It has given me more power in my strikes."

But the former PRIDE Grand Prix champion is starting to feel at home and catch fire, after a rather slow start since coming over from Japan and to the UFC. "My biggest challenge when coming into UFC was adjusting to the Octagon — the size and space you have to fight in. It is a completely different game," Rua said. "It's like playing in the NFL and Arena football; it's a completely different thing."

As a Brazilians, it’s all about rhythm for these guys. That’s something that’s in the blood, but is also something Shogun hadn’t been able to achieve due to lingering injuries. "Another major thing was that I lacked rhythm, since I was sidelined for a long time. Now I'm in rhythm… I have been fighting often and I have been training a lot. I have adapted to the (Octagon) space because I have an official-sized cage in my academy. That has me perfectly used to the space and environment of fighting in UFC."
