Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis said Hatton should quit following his 10th-round knockout defeat to Mayweather. That´s a incredibly rich coming from the lumbering Lewis who it could be argued would never have got near to winning a world title if he had to deal with a half decent heavyweight challenger. "My training went really well and I simply got beaten by the better man. I'll be damned if Ricky Hatton is going to finish the last fight of his life being knocked out." Hatton's team will hopefully accept that he must focus on the light-welterweight division. A weight at which he is still regarded number one in the world. Billy Graham, Hatton´s trainer, says Hatton will only ever return to the 147lbs mega money fights against the likes of Mayweather. Graham says Hatton should go back to his natural weight at light-welter. Graham says he fix his sights on rivals such as Junior Witter, Gavin Rees and Paulie Malignaggi. Graham said: "I've always said Ricky is a natural at 140lbs and from now on I think he should stay there. "It was well worth going up to challenge Mayweather because it was such a big and lucrative fight, but now Ricky can go back to his own category. "The knockout will only affect him if he wants it to. I don't see any reason why he should quit now. He's still far better than any other light-welterweight in the world."
Ricky "the Hit Man" Hatton has decided not to chuck the towel in on his career in the aftermath of his first career defeat to Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on Saturday.
