Brad Pickett vs J.R Sims fight was a shootout between two lightweights that were all offense and explosiveness . The far more experienced England native Pickett, 10-2-0, was at a physical disadvantage against the muscular and long armed Sims, 1-2-0.

Pickett was a former MMA champion in England while Sims had some significant boxing experience in the amateurs. The 5'10" Sims came out of a relaxed boxing stance but he was quickly tied up and hit with some solid knees to the thigh by Pickett. Once the American Sims gained separation he landed a huge wild right hand that floored Brad. The small, 5'6", but tenacious, Pickett, weathered the attack and finished the round by landing a right hand off Sims’s forehead.
