Georges St Pierre vs Josh Koscheck 2 Fight UFC 124 Betting OddsAs expected, Georges St-Pierre [20/73 or -365 ML] will enter this fight as a clear and convincing sports betting odds favorite to defeat betting underdog Josh Koscheck [57/20 or +285 ML] for a second time.

The first time these fighter met dates all the way back to UFC 74 in 2007, when the French-Canadian dominated Koscheck in all facets of the fight on his way to a unanimous decision victory. Even with Koscheck doing as much talking as he has in hyping this fight, the champ isn’t about to engage through the media… he rather wait to be in the Octagon! “But when it’s time to punch him, just the little extra motivation I’m going to have at the end of the punch to twist my knuckle into the head, it will be good thing,” GSP said. “It will give me an extra power edge.”

UFC 118 Results: I think it’s pretty safe to say that the outcomes in UFC 118 Results main events were: very predictable in the Randy Couture vs James Toney fight and surprising even a day later in the UFC lightweight championship bout between Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn. The TD Garden was the site for UFC 118 Results, which saw James Toney embarrass himself in front of the whole world, and witnessed the end of BJ Penn’s reign as the lightweight king of the world.

The Prodigy was dominated like we have never seen before. Thus, BJ Penn took a trip to the hospital after the fight, according to UFC president Dana White.

“I’m sure BJ probably went to the hospital,” White told reporters at the UFC 118 Results press conference. “BJ took some big shots tonight. BJ took some big right hands, some big left hooks, got hit to the body hard a lot, got kicked to the body hard a lot. He went down to the ground and got slammed. He absolutely dominated this guy for five rounds and BJ took a lot of shots tonight.”

So, will Frankie Edgar get the respect he deserves now that he not only beaten BJ twice, but more so, the way in which he dominated the Hawaiian. That remains to be seen. For now, the Jersey Boy is just going to enjoy the victory, as he looks to his next title-defense against Gray Maynard -- who was also victorious tonight over Kenny Florian -- in the near future.

“I thought I put more pressure on him,” said Edgar in his UFC 118 Results post-fight press conference. “I was able to finish some takedowns and stay on top for longer periods of time and I was able to step into my strikes more.”

It’s hard to believe how Edgar went into the Octagon and put on the most dominating performances of his career against none other than the greatest lightweight to ever live. He certainly solidified his name as the top 155-pounder in the world with that victory at UFC 118 Results.

“I think it was more important for you guys than it was for me,” Edgar said about silencing his doubters. “I go in every fight trying to win, trying to do my best and that’s all I can do. It definitely might get some of you guys off my back, that’s for sure.”

UFC 118 Results: Randy Couture Submits James Toney PDF Print E-mail

UFC 118 Results: Randy Couture Submits James Toney: Going in as a huge underdog and a world of experience and disciplines behind, James “Lights Out” Toney [+350 ML] got his lights turned off by an arm-triangle from “The Natural”, Randy Couture [-575 ML] at UFC 118 Results. Although, it was the outcome everyone expected, I think no one anticipated it to come that easy for Couture, nor did people expect Toney to be that unprepared on his back. It flat out looked silly!

From the opening bell, one could see that Couture wasn’t stupid enough to engage with Toney on his feet. That UFC 118 Results: Randy Couture Submits James Toneywould be as stupid as a guy like Toney trying to take the fight to the ground against a great grappler like Couture!

“It would be as silly as I think it is for James to jump into mixed martial arts the way he did here and I think it would go about the same way,” said Couture when asked if he would take a boxing fight against Toney. “James would probably knock me out in the first round.”

Coming out with an orthodox boxing stance, Toney practically gave Couture the single-leg takedown, and Captain America capitalized. Not for anything, but the fact that everyone in the world knew that Couture would come out and take the fight to the mat, and the fact that Toney’s trainers failed to tell him that wearing those foot-guards would give the Greco-Roman wrestler a better grip is completely out of my mind!

“The first thing I noticed when I got into the cage and kind of settled in was that he was wearing those things on his feet,” said Couture. “A huge thing with shooting a low single is you’re used to doing it against wrestlers when they’re wearing shoes ‘cause it’s something that I can grip, so when he had those things on his feet, I was like, ‘Oh, this is going to be better. I have something I can grip.’”

On his back, Toney literally looked like a fish out of water, as Couture immediately transitioned to the mount without much resistance.

“I didn’t feel like he demonstrated any solid skills once he hit his butt,” Couture said during the UFC 118 Results press conference. “He didn’t close his guard. He didn’t protect himself that well; I was able to maneuver and get to mount pretty easily. From mount I knew he had no idea-- I could hear his corner yelling at him…but he was more interested in trying to butt me in the head from his back.”

From that point on, it just seemed like Toney gave up, as Couture softened him up with punches to the head and body, only to set up an arm-triangle that would take the boxing champ out of his misery.

The funniest part of that fight came when Toney’s lights were going out. After Randy turned the corner and sunk in the triangle deep, it seems like Toney didn’t know what to do or how to tap. Instead, Toney sort of waived for help kind of like when a person is drowning in the ocean and waves for the lifeguard to come and save them. In any case, I think we’re all glad the experiment is over…

“It’s been a fun ride with James. It’s been very interesting. He’s a nutty guy,” said UFC President Dana White trying really hard to be PC. “Toney lasted longer than I thought he would actually. It’s unfair to bring in a guy with one discipline no matter if he’s trained eight or nine months. I wasn’t the guy going out and trying to bad-mouth boxing and take boxing down and hurt the sport of boxing. James Toney picked a fight and he got one.”

BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar 2 Fight UFC 118 Picks & Predictions PDF Print E-mail

BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar 2 Fight UFC 118 Picks & Predictions: When former, longtime UFC lightweight champion, BJ Penn [-300 ML] steps into the Octagon on Saturday night, he will be taking on a huge sports betting odds underdog in reigning title-holder, Frankie Edgar [+240 ML]. The TD Garden in Beantown, Mass, will be filled to capacity to see which BJ Penn will show up tonight. According to “The Prodigy”, we can expect to see the best BJ Penn ever in this rematch for the UFC lightweight title!

"I’m just planning on going out there and being myself and hopefully it’s the best BJ Penn anyone has ever seen and everyone’s gonna end up looking at me and saying, man, this guy is the real deal,” said the Hawaiian. UFC 118 Picks & Predictions gets underway tonight at 10 PM ET (9 PM CT/7 PM PT) and it will be broadcasted live on PPV.

With his conditioning and motivation always in question, Penn has had to prove to the world that he fights because he loves the sport. Being one of the most naturally gifted athletes ever to step in the cage, Penn’s biggest downfall has been, at times, those same talents that separate him from the rest of the 155-pounders in the world. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu Mestre addressed this very same issue during a recent interview with UFC.com.

“Everyone’s favorite thing to say is that BJ Penn is some rich, lazy kid and they don’t know who I am,” he explained. “They don’t know me, they never met me. Frankie Edgar doesn’t know me, he never met me, and I feel like I’m reborn. I even want to thank Frankie Edgar for doing this to me because him and the rest of the world are gonna get to see who BJ Penn really is – finally. I’m not trying to be a braggart or blow my own horn, but I really feel that what anyone has ever seen me do in my career, we can top all those things in this fight and in the fights in the future. I’m really excited and I’m pumped. I want to fight.”

BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar 2 Fight UFC 118 Picks & Predictions: I like BJ Penn in this one by submission. I think that Penn was way too content with standing up with Edgar and didn’t exploit his opponent’s weak ground game. As a former BJJ world champ, Penn has to take the fight where he has a clear advantage. If he does this, Penn will reclaim his title by submitting Edgar and ending his short reign as UFC lightweight champ.

UFC 118: Randy Couture vs James Toney Fight Picks & Predictions PDF Print E-mail

UFC 118: Randy Couture vs James Toney Fight Picks & Predictions: Despite being the co-main event at UFC 118, the heavyweight bout between former UFC title-holder Randy Couture [-575 ML] and legendary boxing champ James Toney [+350 ML], appears to be getting most of the attention. With Toney doing most of the talking, this fight has grown bigger than just two 40-year-old guys going at it. This has turned into the physical battle between Boxing vs Mixed Martial Arts.

For Toney, this is his opportunity to show the world that boxers can make the transition to MMA and be successful at it, despite all the obvious disadvantages standup guys face when making the merge. Bombarded with questions about Couture’s clinch and Greco-Roman wrestling abilities, “Lights Out” sounded off this week during an interview.

"Everybody thinks I can't do this, and do that," said the 42-year-old. “Everybody (asks) the same old question every day: how are you going to defend the takedown. [Expletive] him. What he gonna do against my punches? I'm not worried about Randy Couture at all. But I guarantee you one thing. Every night when that bald-headed [expletive] goes to sleep, he thinks about James' black ass."

For “The Natural”, he insists that this is just another fight for him and that he isn’t buying into all the hype about MMA vs Boxing as much as the rest of the world is. At 47-years-old, Captain America isn’t worried about getting caught with one of Toney’s shots, as he feels very confident about his ability to take this fight to the mat.

"This is just another fight," Couture said. "James is another opponent. This is a mixed martial arts fight, whether he's dragging boxing or whatever else he's learned up into that cage. You're still in that cage, and I'm pretty comfortable in there. This sport's going to continue to go on and explode around the world like it has whether I win or lose this fight, so there's no pressure on me."

This fight has turned into such a big deal that even the guys in tonight’s UFC lightweight championship fight and main event are weighing in.

"I really would like to see Toney do good out there," said former UFC lightweight/welterweight champion, B.J. Penn. "You know, I think it only helps the sport. You know, if Randy goes right in there and runs over James Toney in five seconds, you know what? I don't think that does do anything, you know. I look for what tries to build the sport, what tries to put more fans in the seats. More fans in the seats is more money in our pockets."

Frankie Edgar, who won the UFC lightweight title by outclassing Penn in the boxing game, will also be keeping a close eye on this fight. The reigning UFC lightweight champ doesn’t think that the UFC 118 Betting Odds are as accurate as they should be for a guy that possess the skill-sets of a James Toney. "Toney is a world champion heavyweight boxer, so I guess he's got a little bit more than a puncher's chance," he said.
