First round action of this year’s Wachovia Championship from Quail Hollow Country Club in beautiful Charlotte North Carolina will take place Thursday May 1st. Players will be competing for a 6,400,000 (USD) purse and 25,000 FedEx Cup points. Oddsmakers at BodogLife.com released the odds every participant has of winning this weekend in Charlotte North Carolina. Defending WC Champion Tiger Woods won’t be a part of this tournament, due to his injured knee. Woods underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after finishing second to Australian Geoff Ogilvy at the Masters earlier this season. With the absence of the number one player in the world, the WC is pretty much up for grabs. Look for players like Phil Mickelson (10/1), Vijay Singh (16/1), and even Rory Sabbatini (50/1) to make some noise this weekend. The Quail Hollow Course is a par 72, 7,442-yard course with a 74.90 rating and 139 slope. This course features four par 5, ten par 4, and four par 3. This course tends to favor long hitters that can it hit straight and put up low crooked numbers, but it has its share of hazards well in play. Tiger Woods currently leads the PGA Tour this year in all 4 major categories: FedEx Cup points: 17,745 (Mickelson 2nd: 10,081). Money List: 4,425,000 (Mickelson 2nd: 2,488,830). Actual Scoring Average: 68.4 (Cink 2nd: 70.0). World Rank: 21.7 (Mickelson 2nd: 9.7) Here are other significant odds put together by champion oddsmakers at BodogLife.com: Adam Scott 14/1 Jim Furyk 20/1 Geoff Oglivy 22/1 Stewart Cink 25/1 Trevor Immelman 40/1
