The 108th US Open 2008: Tiger Woods vs Phil Mickelson Round 2 Match Up Odds; with round 1 of this 2008 U.S. Open in the books, the featured pairing of the world’s top 3 players (Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Adam Scot) played rather mediocre at Torrey Pines’ par-71 golf course on Thursday morning in beautiful San Diego, CA.

All the speculation about Tiger’s third-time surgically repaired knee increased as Woods had a bit of a limp towards the end of his round. In Friday’s 2008 US Open: Tiger Woods vs Phil Mickelson Round 2 Match Up Odds, Sportsbetting.com has Tiger Woods a -135 betting odds favorite against Phil Mickelson (+105). Tiger vs. Phil are scheduled to tee off at 4:36 pm EST, so get your bets in now.

Thursday’s round 1 was the first time in about 2 months that Tiger had walked a full (18-hole) round of golf. Tiger had 2 double bogies including one at the first hole, and a three put on the par-5 18th hole, after getting on in 2. Tiger feels god about his position on the leader boards, saying he can clean that up on Friday.

After his 1st round, Tiger lost his head-to-head match-up against Phil Mickelson by shooting a +1, 72. Meanwhile the San Diego native Phil was able to scramble back and finish his first round at even par (round of 71).

Afterwards, when asked how his knee felt, Tiger Woods jokingly said: “I like to walk 18 holes (laughter), I don’t need a cart yet…a bit sore right now… it is what it is, I’ll just keep playing.” The difference came on the 18th hole, when both players were able to get on the green in 2 and a shot at eagle.

Phil took full advantage of the opportunity, as he two-putted for a birdie, which brought him back to E. However, Tiger wasn’t able to capitalize on the opportunity, as he three-putted for par to remain at 1 over.

Phil Mickelson: “loved the pairing… nobody’s gonna have an advantage”. Mickelson who decided to go without a driver on his bag, his strategy was to keep the ball in the fairway, but that didn’t work out very well, as Phil shot Even Par.
