After a pleasantly sunny day at the Royal St. Georges, two men sit at the top of the heap at 4-under, after the second round of the British Open is complete. One of the men is from Northern Ireland, and nope it’s not Rory McIlroy!
It is 42-year-old Darren Clarke, who for the second day in a row shot a 68. When asked about today’s round 
Clarke said he believes that this morning’s weather in Sandwich, England was in his favor after shooting an eagle and five birdies.
"Overall I am very pleased with a 68. We had the good side of the draw, there was no breeze this morning,” Clarke explained. "To have all the support is great. It is nice to play well again and hopefully contend over the weekend at the biggest tournament in the world."
Sitting next to Clarke, is American Lucas Glover, who shot an even par-70 on Friday. The 2009 US Open Champ had two birdies and finished with eight straight pars, after having earned a 66 in round one.
"I hit it better than I hit it yesterday, just didn't make as many putts," Glover said. "Got to put those two together to win a big tournament like this."
So who else is still in the running? Round one’s leader, Thomas Bjorn, shot a 72 dropping him to 3-under. Alongside Bjorn are American Chad Campbell, Martin Kaymer of Germany, and Miguel Angel Jimenez of Spain.
As for this year’s US Open Champion, Rory McIlroy, he made it through round 2 with a 69, just four strokes behind the lead. But will McIlroy be able to climb up ahead of these ripe and experienced men?
