2008 Ryder Cup Betting Odds: USA vs Europe: This 2008 Ryder Cup will take place Thursday September 19th all the way thru Sunday the 21st from Valhalla in Louisville, KY. With Tiger Woods still recuperating from reconstructive knee surgery, the Americans are actually betting underdogs in this year’s Ryder Cup tournament.

The United States' captain, Paul Azinger, announced earlier today that Chad Campbell will round out the group that includes: Steve Stricker, Hunter Mahan, and J.B. Holmes.

Campbell will be playing in his third straight Ryder Cup, and the first as the last addition to the team, a wild card.

The Americans, who have not won this tournament since the year 1999, will have Striker, Mahan, and Holmes, making their Ryder Cup debut, along with 6 other rookies. The USA team includes: Phil Mickelson, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, Anthiny Kim, Justin Leonard, Jim Furyk, Ben Curtis, and Boo Weekly.   

For the Europeans, captain Nick Faldo’s final Sunday selections included, Ian Poulter and Paul Casey. Surprisingly, veteran Darren Clarke will not be participating in this year’s Cup. Clarke, who has played in the last 5 Ryder Cup teams, has won twice in the last four months.
