Top favorites to win the Kentucky Derby are Union Rags, coming off at 7-to-2 odds, Gemologist at 7-to-1 and Hansen at 8-to-1. Hansen is the top money winner this season with earnings at $1,400,000. Union Rags, trained by Michael Matz, was defeated as a 9-2 odds-on favorite, finishing third in the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park on April 1 behind Take Charge Indy and Reveron but odds makers are undeterred by the loss keeping him as top derby favorite. Take Charge Indy is coming off at 12-to-1 odds for Kentucky with Reveron at 75-to-1.
Bob Baffert owns the top two two horses running in the Arkansas Derby, Secret Circle, (5-to-2) and Bodemeister (9-to-5). Secret Circle, son of Eddington won the G2 Rebel while Bodemeister finished second in the G2 San Felipe. Bovada.lv and most horse books list Secret Circle coming off at 15-to-1 and Bodemeister at 20-to-1 for the Kentucky Derby.
