Returning to battle (or chew) again are rival gougers American Joey Chestnut, winner of last year's contest, and former winner Takeru Kobayashi of Japan. Chestnut and Kobayashi are expected to be challenged by Tim 'Eater X' Janus in the event.

Oddsmakers at online super-sportsbook Bodog.com show Joey Chestnut as 20/31 odds favorite over Kobayashi who is installed on the Nathans betting board at 21/20 odds. Tim 'Eater X' Janus backers are getting 23/2 odds while any other eater making the field is getting 13/1 odds.

Bodog.com has set this years winning total at 61 ½ hot dogs. The OVER is priced as the favorite at -165 while UNDER players are getting +125 odds.

If Nathan's gamblers are looking for a hint, we at Sports-Odds.com want to remind you last years event ended regulation at 59 1/2 hot dogs eaten.

This ESPN televised event, is expected to be very competitive between Chestnut and Kobayashi. In 2008, these competitors were tied at 59 hot dogs consumed when the contest 10 minute limit expired. Chestnut won in a five hotdog tie-breaking eat-off.

A prize of $10,000 will go to the winner and $5,000 will be awarded to the runner-up.  Cash prizes are awarded to the top eight eaters.

Wimbledon 2009 Men’s Finals: Andy Roddick vs Roger Federer
Written by Jonny Stacks
Friday, 03 July 2009

Andy Roddick ruined the party before it even got in full swing in the Semi Finals at Wimbledon 2009. After telling the worlds press that ‘I can count the number of people that will be cheering for me on one hand’ the big serving American silenced the Wimbledon Centre Court and fully deserved his intense victory over Britain’s Andy Murray on a hot Friday afternoon in SW19.

Wimbledon 2009 Men’s Finals: Andy Roddick vs Roger FedererStrangely it wasn’t Roddick’s serve that won him the match – he dished up only 21 aces compared to 43 in his epic Quarter Final win over Lleyton Hewitt – but Roddick showed up on Friday full of confidence in his own ability and displayed a ruthless streak when backing up behind his first serve.

Next up for Roddick is none other than the man about to claim the crown of the greatest player ever – Roger Federer. After dismissing Germany’s Tommy Haas in just over 2 hours the Swiss genius is now just one victory away from passing Pete Sampras’ record of winning 14 Grand Slam events. When questioned as to whether his good friend Sampras would be in attendance on Centre Court on Sunday Federer was as diplomatic as ever shrugging his shoulders and responding with a vague ‘I’m not sure!’ Federer is the first man to qualify for 7 consecutive Wimbledon finals.

Wagering on the final has a very one sided look about it with Federer installed at odds of -750 and Roddick available at +500 odds at Bodog.com. The pair have met twice previously in Wimbledon finals with Federer winning in straight sets in 2005 and in four sets the year previously. Roddick’s performance on Sunday will most likely be decided by a first set tie break as it was in 2004 however if he could take an opening set and then force another breaker in the 2nd then we could be in for yet another memorable final.

Her Majesty the Queen had stated that she had kept her appointment book open on Sunday afternoon should Andy Murray qualify for the final. Let’s hope she enjoys her Sunday lunch now instead and that her tickets are used wisely! Bet on the Wimbledon 2009 Men’s Finals at Bodog.com and receive a 10% Deposit Bonus.
