thunder durant westbrookThe Western Conference Finals could end this evening as the Thunder welcome the Spurs to Oklahoma City for a Game 6 battle at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Tonight’s contest is scheduled to get underway at 9:00pm ET; it will be broadcast live on TNT. NBA Odds have the Thunder listed as a -5 against the spread home favorite and the Under 203 points favored at -115 odds. The Spurs are a +180 underdog to win outright while OKC is a -220 moneyline favorite.

The Spurs went into Game 5 of this series a -5 against the spread home favorite, but not only did they not cover the number, they lost their first home game of the postseason. The Thunder pulled off a 108-103 upset after shooting 50-percent from the field and 87-percent from the charity stripe.

Oklahoma City’s big three, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden, again carried the scoring load as they combined for 70 of the team’s 108 points. Durant posted a team high 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting while Westbrook tallied a 23 point, 12 assist double-double. Harden posted the lowest total of the trio, finishing with 20 points; however, his clutch shooting from the outside (3-for-4 from long range) may have been the difference in the game.

The Spurs got a huge offensive effort from Manu Ginobili, who scored a game high 34 points, but the Argentina native did not receive enough help. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan scored 20 and 18 points respectively, but Stephen Jackson was the only other Spur to score in double figures (13).

Now San Antonio must do what the Thunder did on Monday night in order to force a Game 7. Oklahoma City is 7-0 at home in the playoffs, winning those games by an average of 8.7 points per game. Certainly the Spurs are capable of pulling off the upset, but they will need a lock-down defensive effort (something they have trended away from this season) to complete the job.

NBA Odds Betting Trend: The Thunder are 2-8 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 games as a home favorite against a Southwest foe with a spread between 4 and 7.5 and a total between 200 and 205 points.
