The 2016 NBA Finals head to Game 4 tonight as the Cavaliers look to hold serve at home and even the best of seven series at 2-2. Opening Game 4 odds and predictions from offshore bookmaker Bovada.lv are favoring Cleveland at -1.5 against the spread and -125 on the moneyline. The Warriors are a +105 moneyline play and the Over/Under is coming in at 206 points.
No Kevin Love, no problem. The Cavaliers saved themselves from a likely sweep on Wednesday night, destroying the Warriors 120-90 to bring the 2016 NBA Finals to 2-1 in favor of Golden State.
Cleveland shot just 36.8-percent from the field in its Game 1 and Game 2 losses to the Warriors, but the friendly confines of Quicken Loans Arena corrected their shooting woes. The Cavs connected on 48 of their 91 field goal attempts in Game 3, including a 12-for-25 effort from beyond the arc.
LeBron James and Kyrie Irving led the way, scoring 32 and 30 points, respectively, but J.R. Smith made his presence felt as well, hitting five three-pointers en route to a series high 20 points.
Conversely, the Warriors, who shot 51.9-percent in Games 1 and 2, were 32-of-76 in Game 3 as both Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry offensive struggles continued.
The duo combined for 29 points and eight turnovers in Wednesday’s loss and they are now averaging 12 and 16 points per game, respectively, in the Finals. Those are down from season averages of 22.1 and 30.1.
In spite of those poor numbers, the Warriors still hold the advantage and they will, at worst, return to Oakland with the series knotted at two games apiece.
Golden State’s recent history, though, says it will make its way back to California with a 3-1 lead. The Warriors are 3-0 both straight up and against the spread in their last three games playing as a road dog coming off a road loss, winning by an average of 21 points per game.
Cleveland, meanwhile, is 0-4 opposite the number in its last four games playing as a home favorite coming off a home win in which it scored 120 or more points.
2016 NBA Finals Predictions Game 4: Warriors +1.5 and Over 206.
Tonight’s game is scheduled to get underway at 8:00pm ET at the Quicken Loans Arena; the game will be broadcast live on ABC.
