Indianapolis Colts vs Baltimore Ravens 2013 NFL Playoff Predictions

ravens lewis suggsThe Colts postseason hiatus lasted all of one season as rookie quarterback Andrew Luck guided the franchise back to the playoffs this year with an 11-5 record. Indianapolis’ reward is a trip to Baltimore where they will face the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday. This weekend’s 2013 NFL Playoff Predictions showdown between the Colts and Ravens is scheduled to get underway at 1:00pm ET on CBS. NFL Odds have Baltimore listed as a -6.5 against the spread favorite and the Over/Under set at 47 points.

Despite the hype surrounding Andrew Luck, not a soul expected Indianapolis to return to the playoffs this season. The Colts did exactly that, though, taking advantage of one of the league’s weakest schedules to finish the year with an 11-5 record.

However, Indy’s postseason stint is expected to be short lived and probably for good reason. Luck and his mates were not exactly road warriors as evidenced by their 4-4 away record and they failed to beat a winning team outside the confines of Lucas Oil Stadium, falling to Chicago, New England, and Houston, the three above .500 clubs it faced on the road, by an average of 22.3 points per game.

Nonetheless, there is a chance Indianapolis could surprise given the recent play of their Wild Card opponent. The Ravens opened the season in glorious fashion, plundering their way to a 5-1 start with wins over Cincinnati, New England, Cleveland, Kansas City, and Dallas, but they fell apart down the stretch.

Baltimore closed out the season on a 1-4 run that featured home losses to the Steelers and Broncos as well as road setbacks opposite the Redskins and Bengals. Still, the Ravens are a difficult out at M&T Bank Stadium and it is difficult to envision them losing at home to a team that sports the league’s fourth worst rush defense and a -12 turnover margin.

NFL Playoff Predictions Betting Trend: The Ravens are 6-0 straight up but 0-5-1 against the spread over the last three seasons playing as a home favorite coming off a road loss (Over was 5-1 in those games). is very proud to announce that resident NFL Picks Expert Tyler Morgan completely dominated the books during the regular season going a documented 54-30-1 ATS which was enough to win first place in the Pregame Mock NFL Hilton Contest beating out over 1,800 of the top sports handicappers in the world.
