2015 Super Bowl Predictions

seahawks defenseOne weekend down, four more to go before a new champion is crowned. Although, if the NFL odds makers at Sportsbook.ag are correct, the new champ will look a lot like the last one. The latest 2015 Super Bowl Predictions from the offshore bookmaker are still favoring the Seattle Seahawks to win the Lombardi Trophy at +230 odds. The New England Patriots, the top seed in the AFC, are next with a +300 line and they are followed by the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys at +575, +700 and +850 Super Bowl Odds, respectively. With teams like Arizona, Cincinnati and Detroit now out of the playoff picture, the Ravens, Colts and Panthers have assumed the role of heavy championship underdogs. Baltimore is getting +1700 odds to win its third Super Bowl while Indianapolis and Carolina are priced at +2000 and +2500 odds.

While there are a number of teams still in the playoff field capable of beating the Seahawks, there is no reason not to like Seattle as a potential Super Bowl repeat. The inconsistencies that marked the Seahawks early season play are long gone, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.

Seattle yielded 26 or more points three times through its first six games, something it did just once in 19 games last season, but it has shored things up over the last six weeks. The Seahawks allowed an astonishing 39 points over their last six outings and they have given up a total of 33 points in their last four games at CenturyLink Field.

Seattle’s offense has not been as dominant, but it has been more than good enough. The Seahawks ranked ninth in the league in yards per game during the regular season with a 375.8 average and their 24.6 points per game average was good enough for 10th. And Seattle was far away the league’s best rushing team, posting over 172 yards per game on the ground at a ridiculous 5.3 yards per carry clip.
