niners harbaugh kaepernickThe San Francisco 49ers reached their second consecutive NFC Championship Game last year and they won the contest for the first time since 1995, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 28-24 at the Georgia Dome. The odds maker’s at Carbon Sports are expecting the Niners conference championship run to continue this season with San Francisco presently listed as a +400 money line favorite to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLVIII. 2014 NFC Championship Odds at the offshore book have the Seattle Seahawks listed as a close second pick to their NFC West rival at +450 NFL odds. The Green Bay Packers are a third choice at +600 odds while the Falcons and Saints round out the top five favorites at +850 and +1200 odds, respectively.

San Francisco 49ers (+400): San Francisco won the NFC West by a half game last season, just edging the Seahawks with an 11-4-1 record. Despite the close call, most pundits believe the Niners have enough talent to keep Seattle at bay both in the division and conference title chases. The 49ers field one of the league’s best defenses and they have, perhaps, of the most dynamic young player in the league in quarterback Colin Kaepernick. It could also be argued that Jim Harbaugh is one of the top three head coaches in the game. In other words, the 49ers have a lot of things to feel good about.

Seattle Seahawks (+450): Seattle played as good or better than any team in the league down the stretch last year, winning its last five regular season games by an average of 26.6 points per contest. Should it start this season in the same fashion San Francisco, as well as every other NFC contender, has reason to feel nervous. The Seahawks defense is just a stout as the Niners and quarterback Russell Wilson’s skill set is on par with Kaepernick’s.

Green Bay Packers (+600): The Packers have some issues on defense, and they have some injury concerns as well; however, they have, arguably, the best player in the league taking snaps. As long as Aaron Rodgers is under center in Green Bay, the Packers have to be considered an NFC Championship threat.
