Monday Night Football Lines for this evening’s NFL Week 1 finale have the hosting Raiders listed as a -1 against the spread favorite against their AFC West rival San Diego. Other NFL Odds have the Over/Under in tonight’s contest set at 47 points while the Chargers are a -105 moneyline play to open the season with a 1-0 record. Kickoff in this evening’s game is set for 10:15pm ET at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum; it will be broadcast live on ESPN.
Week 1 NFL Picks have been all over the place and they probably are in tonight’s game as well with two divisional rivals squaring off on the inferior team’s turf. The Chargers have dominated this series of late, winning seven of its last 10 against the Raiders; however, Oakland has won three of the last four.

For years San Diego was the pick in the AFC West, but after back-to-back mediocre seasons, it begins this year as a bit of an unknown commodity. Fortunately for the Chargers, they still have a quality presence under center in Philip Rivers. Rivers is coming off one of his worst seasons after throwing a career high 20 interceptions, but he did play well down the stretch. The brash NC State product threw 11 touchdowns to three interceptions over the final five weeks, leading the Chargers to a 4-1 record in that time span.
Rivers was particularity effective in a 38-26 road win over the Raiders in the season finale, completing 19-of-26 passes for 310 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. For his career Rivers is 9-3 opposite Oakland with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
After years of horrific play, Oakland appears to be a decent team, at least on paper, but they still look a step behind the rest of the AFC West. Carson Palmer has been inconsistent since arriving in the Bay Area, hurting the Raiders as much as helping them by turning the ball over far too often. He will need to take better care of the ball tonight for his team to win the game, but he has not shown an ability to do that of late.
