Houston Head Coach Gary Kubiak will visit his old stomping grounds this weekend as his Texans square off against the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium. Sunday’s scrap between the Texans and Broncos is scheduled to get underway at 4:25pm ET on CBS. The latest NFL Odds have Houston listed as a -2 against the spread road favorite; the game total is set at 46 points.
NFL Week 3 Predictions features a number of quality games but few are more intriguing than the Houston/Denver dust up at Mile High. Denver and Peyton Manning looked fantastic in their week one victory over the Steelers, but Manning fell flat in the team’s Monday night meeting with Atlanta, which led to a 27-21 loss at the Georgia Dome. Houston, meanwhile, has looked like one of the league’s best teams albeit against two squads (Miami, Jacksonville) most consider below average. Consequently, this weekend’s game will provide the Broncos their third straight test against a top tier team while it will serve as the Texans biggest challenge to date.
After going 6-0 ATS last week, you need to get the latest NFL Picks by Tyler Morgan before kick off.
Peyton Manning appeared nothing short of Manning-like in Denver’s opener against Pittsburgh, throwing for 253 yards and two touchdowns, but it looked as though an imposter donned the No. 18 Monday night in Atlanta. Manning was dreadful in the early going, tossing three first half interceptions that led directly to a 20-0 deficit for the Broncos. The four time MVP did rebound with a solid second half, but the hole he dug in the first two frames was too deep to escape.
Perhaps a little home cooking will get Manning and Denver back on track, but it is certainly no guarantee, not against a team as good as the Texans. Houston presently ranks first in the league in both yards and points per game allowed after holding the Dolphins and Jaguars to 17 total points and 392 yards.
Denver will provide a bigger offensive challenge than either of those teams; however, Houston will present the Broncos defense with a trail it has yet to endure as well. The Texans rushing attack is far superior than the ones John Fox’s crew faced against the Steelers and Falcons, and it is not something they will abandon when the going gets tough.
The Texans are for real, something made abundantly clear after last year’s finish and this season’s strong start, but the Manning led Broncos are still a bit of a question mark. Sunday should provide plenty of solid evidence, one way or another, in regard Denver.
Week 3 NFL Picks Betting Trend: The Texans are 7-0 straight up and 5-1-1 against the spread over the last four years playing as a road favorite off a win.
