Sunday Night Football Spreads features a match up between last season’s AFC Championship Game participants as the Baltimore Ravens play host to the New England Patriots. Both teams come into this game off a loss, making it of even greater import. Kick off in this highly anticipated showdown is set for 8:20pm ET at M&T Bank Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. NFL Odds have the Ravens listed as a -3 against the spread home favorite while the game total is set at 49.5 points.
Monday’s pairing of the Packers and Seahawks looks far better now than it did three or four weeks ago, but make no mistake, tonight’s skirmish between the Patriots and Ravens in the marquee Week 3 NFL Picks match up. New England and Baltimore are two conference favorites and their contentious and hotly contested rivalry only intensified after last year’s 23-20 AFC Championship battle at Gillette Stadium.
After going 6-0 ATS last week, you need to get the latest NFL Picks by Tyler Morgan before kick off.
As everyone knows, the Patriots prevailed in that contest, despite being out-gained 398 yards to 324 and finishing the day -2 in the turnover department. Tom Brady had a particularly difficult afternoon, completing just 22-of-36 passes for 239 yards and two interception against the Ravens vaunted defense. Brady’s struggles were no isolated incident, though. Tom Terrific’s 77.9 passer rating against the Ravens is his worst against any one team in the league and, yet, he owns a 4-0 regular season record opposite Baltimore. However, only one of those meetings took place at M&T Bank Stadium and that came in 2007, a year the Ravens finished an uncharacteristic 5-11.
Baltimore would love nothing more than to put a one in that loss column, especially with New England reeling from last week’s shocking 20-18 home setback to the Cardinals. The Ravens will need to overcome their gut-wrenching loss, though, as they fell 23-24 at Philadelphia in a game they led 23-17 with under five minutes to play. While the history in this match up points toward a New England victory, Baltimore’s incredible run at home (18-1 last 19 games at M&T Bank Stadium) suggests it is the team to beat.
