2016 NFL Schedule Week 7 & Betting Odds

Sunday was not a good day for the Steelers, a favorite of many to win the AFC prior to the start of the season, and it is not a good week for them to face what many believe to be the best team in football, the Patriots. Pittsburgh will be without Ben Roethlisberger, Cameron Heyward, Cody Wallace and, potentially, Ryan Shazier and DeAngelo Williams among others. Opening betting odds for the 2016 NFL Schedule Week 7 reflects that fact as New England comes in a 7.5 road favorite.

That match-up is one of a few big ones dotting this week’s slate. Also on tap is an NFC showdown between the undefeated Vikings, who are fresh off a bye, and the Eagles, who are attempting snap a two game skid. The odds makers like Minnesota, favoring Sam Bradford and company at -3 against the spread against his former employer.

Week 7 opens in Green Bay where the Packers welcome their oldest rival, the Bears, to Lambeau Field. Chicago is drawing a +8 line in the divisional clash. That is a large number, especially in light of the Packers putrid performance against the Cowboys over the weekend; however, the Bears have earned their pathetic reputation, posting a 1-5 record while losing its three road games by an average of 9.7 points.

Perhaps the most noteworthy line of the week is featured in the Colts/Titans game. Indy has won nine straight against Tennessee and it covered the spread in seven of those games, but it finds itself a three point dog in Sunday’s game.

The Week 7 Sunday Night Football game will showcase the suddenly surging Cardinals hosting division rival and NFC West leader Seattle. Bruce Arians squad, which improved to 3-3 with a 28-3 destruction of the Jets on Monday Night Football, is laying two against the Seahawks.

Seattle has won and covered in the last three meetings between the two teams in Glendale.

This week’s NFL action will conclude with an ESPN Monday Night Football clash between the Texans and Broncos at Mile High. Gary Kubiak’s new club is looking to halt its two game skid while his old club will take aim at its first road win of the season. Denver is favored by 7.5 points.

Notable NFL Schedule Week 7 Betting Trends:

The Broncos are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games playing as a home favorite coming off back to back losses.

The Saints are 6-0-1 against the spread in their last seven games playing as a road dog coming off a division home win.

The Vikings are 0-5 both straight up and against the spread in their last five games playing as a road favorite coming off a home win.
