The 2016 NFL Schedule Week 8 is highlighted by an NBC Sunday Night Football clash between bitter rivals Philadelphia and Dallas. According to the latest NFL betting odds from Bovada.lv, the surprising Cowboys, who lead the NFC East with a 5-1 record, are favored by 4.5 points over the Eagles in spite of having lost five of their last six home games against Philly.
Also on tap is another primetime divisional showdown as the Bears welcome the Vikings to the Windy City on Monday night. Minnesota is looking to rebound from its first loss of the season and they should do so. The odds makers (along with anyone else who has watched the Bears this season) expect as much with the Vikings favored at 6.5 points.
Minnesota has won four of the last five meetings between the two squads, beating Chicago by an average of 7.8 points per game.
Other Week 8 matchups of note include a London meeting between the Redskins and Bengals as well as an upstate New York dust up between the Patriots and Bills.
Washington had won four straight prior to Sunday’s loss to Detroit. Cincinnati, though, snapped a two game skid with a 31-17 win over in-state and division rival Cleveland. Both teams are fighting to stay in playoff contention and if the odds makers are correct, they will both be 4-4 come Sunday afternoon. The 3-4 Bengals are drawing a -3 line in the International Series contest.
New England ran its record to 6-1 on Sunday with a 27-16 road win over the Steelers while Buffalo saw a four game win streak halted thanks to a 25-28 loss to the Dolphins. The 4-3 Bills, who have lost 11 of their last 12 home games to the Pats, are seven point underdogs in this week’s game.
Count the Chargers and Chiefs as two teams looking to sustain some positive momentum while taking to the road this week.
San Diego improved to 3-4 with Sunday’s upset of the Falcons in Altanta; it will chase a third straight win against the division leading Broncos (5-2) on Sunday. The Bolts, who knocked off Denver 21-13 a couple of weeks ago, opened as a 6.5 point road dog.
Kansas City topped New Orleans 27-21 last week to bring its record to 4-2 and log its second straight win. The Chiefs head to Indy this weekend, a place where they are 1-6 in their last seven games. In spite of that painful mark, KC is favored by three over the hosting Colts.
This week’s slate opens with a Thursday night meeting between the Jaguars and Titans in Nashville. Tennessee, third in the AFC South standings with a 3-4 record, has seen three of its four losses come at home. The Titans are favored by 3.5 points, but they have failed to cover the number in five of their last six meetings with the Jags.
2016 NFL Schedule Week 8 Betting Trends:
The Chiefs are 6-1 both straight up and against the spread in their last seven games playing as a road favorite coming off back to back wins.
The Bears are 0-4 both straight up and against the spread in their last four games playing as a home dog coming off a road division loss.
The Lions are 0-4 both straight up and against the spread in their last four games playing as a road dog coming off a home win.
