2013 NFL Playoff Schedule & Betting Odds

nfl playoff logoSports-Odds.com is excited to announce that the odds makers have released the betting odds for all games on the 2013 NFL Playoff Schedule for Wild Card Weekend. With the 2012 NFL Regular Season coming down to the Sunday Night Football battle between the Dallas Cowboys (8-8) and Washington Redskins (10-6) for the NFC East Division Title and last spot in the post season, football betting fanatics were glued to the television all of Sunday.

The Redskins beat the Cowboys 28-18 on the shoulders of rookie running back Alfred Morris who ran for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns on 33 carries. Next up for the NFC East champion Redskins will be the super hot Seattle Seahawks (11-5) who beat the Rams 20-13 in their last game of the season. This will be an intriguing match up and the last Wild Card game of the weekend which will pit two rookie quarterbacks (Robert Griffin III and Russell Wilson) against each other in their first NFL Playoff games ever. Kickoff is set for Sunday January 6th at 4:30 PM on FedEx Field. The NFL betting odds makers have made the Seattle Seahawks -2.5 point road favorites against the Washington Redskins with the Total set at 45.5 points.

The first game of the Wild Card weekend will have the AFC South champion Houston Texans (12-4) hosting the Cincinnati Bengals (10-6) in Reliant Stadium at 4:30 PM EST on Saturday January 5th. The Texans are coming into the NFL Playoffs after dropping their last two games of the season to two teams in the postseason (Minnesota Vikings and Indianapolis Colts). Quarterback Matt Schaub and company will have to turn it around if they are going to beat the sizzling hot Bengals that are riding a three game winning streak including two wins over critical  AFC North foes (Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens). The NFL odds makers have made the Houston Texans -4.5 point home favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals with the Total set at 43.5 points.

The second game of the Wild Card weekend features a repeat of the Week 17 battle between NFC North rivals when the Minnesota Vikings (10-6) head to Lambeau Field to take on the division champion Green Bay Packers (11-5) at 8:00 PM EST on Saturday January 5th. The teams split the 2 games they played against each other during the regular season, the Packers won the Week 13 match up 23-14 and the Vikings won the Week 17 match up 37-34 giving Minnesota their postseason birth. Running back Adrian Peterson ran for 199 yards and 1 touchdown on 34 carries in the win last week giving him 2,097 rushing yards on the season which was 9 yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson’s 1984 record (2,105) for the most yards in a season. Quarterback Christian Ponder will need to play mistake free football on the road this week with Peterson having another monster game for the Vikings to move on. The Packers defense must shut down Minnesota’s rushing attack or slow it down enough to give their quarterback Aaron Rogers a chance to out duel on the offensive side of the ball. The NFL betting odds makers have the Green Bay Packers -8 point home favorites against the Minnesota Vikings with the Total set at 45.5 points.

The third game of the Wild Card weekend will take place when the Indianapolis Colts (11-5) take on AFC North champion Baltimore Ravens (10-6) in M&T Bank Stadium at 4:30 PM EST on January 6th. The Colts caught fire in the second half of the season behind rookie quarterback Andrew Luck with Indianapolis going 6-2 earning themselves a birth in the postseason. The Ravens lost 4 of their last 5 games to end the regular season and will have to turn that around if they expect to advance against this confident Colts squad that now has their head coach Chuck Pagano back after he took an indefinite leave back on September 26th to begin chemotherapy treatments in his battle against leukemia. With the cancer in remission, Pagano will be an emotional battle cry for this Colts team on the road in Baltimore. Pagano was the Ravens defensive coordinate in 2011 before he accepted the head coaching position with Indianapolis. The NFL odds makers have the Baltimore Ravens -6.5 point home favorites against the Indianapolis Colts with the Total set at 46.5 points.

The winners of the Wild Card games this week will take on the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers in next week’s NFL Divisional Playoff Round. Each of these four teams earned a first round bye and an extra week of badly needed rest after a grueling 17 week regular season schedule.
