Ted Forest was born in Syracuse, New York on September 24, 1964. Ted is well liked by the other pros and he has been known to back players in games when they were short of cash. Forest once helped form a pool of money so the consortium of poker players could play heads up with the multi-billionaire Andy Beal from Texas. The limits in the game ran from $10,000/$20,000 to $100,000/$200,000. That is a healthy game in anybodies world.
Once he got his poker feet under him he became a force to be reckoned with. In the 1993 WSOP he won three different bracelets. The events he won that year were Seven-Card Stud, Seven-Card Razz and Omaha Eight or Better. In 2004 he won two WSOP events. Although he does well in tournaments his preferred area of play is in high stakes NL Holdem. He is frequently seen in the High Stakes TV show. His lifetime tournament total as of 2007 exceeds 5.5 million dollars. He is not afraid to cover any prop bet he thinks he can win. Ted Forest is a real old time gambler in both poker and craps. His fearless play makes him a difficult player to beat in any poker game.
His path to riches was started when he dropped out of college to pursue the life of a poker player. Ted states that maybe that was the best move he ever made as he would have gone down a different path and not made the money he has made playing poker.
