Harrah’s, the owners of the World Series of Poker , has been doing their best to help improve the schedule for the 2008 World Series of Poker, which they hope will result in a series with more prospects and publicity than in the past.  As with the other WSOP tournaments, the event will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada . Jeffrey Pollack, who heads the series, has promised better conditions for this years series because last year a number of players and professionals staged a boycott in order to call attention to the conditions set for the series.

This year, the event will take place throughout the course of more than a month, being held in Las Vegas from May 30, 2008 until July 16, 2008.  A number of events have been extended, going from lasting one day to being spread out over two days, in order to help appease professionals and improve conditions for the tournaments.

Last year’s 2007 WSOP event was comprised of fifty-five tournaments of various games, all of which a form of poker.  The 2008 World Series of Poker matches this number of games and players in the 2008 series will enjoy another fifty-five tournaments.  The schedule features an additional seven tournaments, in addition to the Main Event, which require a $10,000 buy in.  For the third year in a row, players can enjoy the popular $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event during the 2008 World Series of Poker. 

Once more, the event will be held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino . The environment is expected to be lively and exciting.  Many people are looking forward to the 2008 World Series of Poker because of the bigger prizes, extended lengths of tournaments and improved conditions.  Hopefully, this will work to make the 2008 World Series of Poker the best yet!
